Melka Stansah is an author who has used Green Hill Publishing (like me!) to release her first two novels in a series called The Raven Trilogy. Melka and I have been emailing back and forth for a few months and she’s a super nice lady (she’s my first author friend!). She lives in Melbourne but you can check out her website here!
Her two novels are called The Raven Trilogy: The First Journey and The Raven Trilogy: The Lantern Valley. A third instalment is in the works but is still a while from release and I’m pretty keen!!
I have read both in the last six months (the first in June 2019 and the second in January 2020). The first one I bought on amazon and read on my Kindle while travelling but the second one was not available online so I managed to get a paperback copy directly from Melka (thanks!). Both books have easy-to-read writing styles and the fantasy elements are not too heavy or complicated (like some high fantasy novels can be).
I have enjoyed following Raven, a hero who is part human and part monster (a notoriously hated race in Raven’s world). He has one blue-green eye and one yellow eye due to his mixed heritage. He is shunned from normal society and is forced, as an adult, to survive on his own. In isolation he becomes a worthy warrior with unequalled combat skills which come in handy when humans attack to try to eliminate him. He also makes a connection with a young lady Isobel, but I won’t say more as I don’t want to spoil the story! The novels are filled with numerous fantasy realms, battle scenes, wanderings, personal discoveries and much more!
I have loved getting into the narrative and following Raven and his various adventures! The First Journey is available on amazon kindle for the affordable price of AUD$1.31 and AUD$3.28 for a paperback copy. There are over 25 positive reviews online and I recommend giving it a try!
